April 2024 Executive Update

Dearest NPAA members,

It is with great pleasure that I accept the position of President with the Nurse Practitioner Association. As of April 1, 2024, Dr. Susan Prendergast embarked on her latest leadership endeavor as Executive Director, NP Professional Practice with Island Health Authority. I have all the confidence that she will be instrumental to the organization, as a representative of the nurse practitioner profession, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership skills.

Dr. Prendergast has been an exceptionally strong voice for nurse practitioners within Alberta. As a cunning strategist and brilliant professional, she has seen the NPAA through extraordinary times; navigating our board though internal restructuring, inter-professional challenges, healthcare reform, and governmental change. She has represented our profession with grace and tenacity at provincial and national tables without hesitation to advocate in the best interests of nurse practitioner practice and education.

I can only hope to continue the momentum that her leadership has initiated. I am thankful for her ongoing mentorship, as she continues to be with the NPAA board in a Past President capacity. I am excited for the opportunity to continue to engage with NPAA stakeholders, build new relationships and to carry a strong voice on behalf on Nurse Practitioners in Alberta. Thank you to you all for putting your trust in me!

Sincerely,
Jen

  • Collaborative healthcare partners can now advertise potential NP clinic spaces on our website. NPs can then connect with the clinics directly. We have not endorsed or screened these clinics. It is a unilateral matchmaking platform that is intended to support your opportunities for building business relationships and collaborations. If you have any questions or concerns about the site please email hello@albertanps.com
