Your Opportunity:
Primary Care Hospital Team at Grey Nuns is looking for a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner who likes to work in more of flex position covering various teams in the program. You would work with a variety of physician teams and provide support across the program. We are looking for a NP that has ability to adjust to support the program in unit coverage or in working in the ER admitting patients across the teams.

Description:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a self-directed practitioner who functions in an extended role in the area of General Medicine. In collaboration with the physicians, the NP provides direct patient care which includes comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, intervention, referral, management and evaluation of patient care across the continuum of acute health care services. All duties and responsibilities follow the guidelines developed by CARNA and policies and procedures of Covenant Health.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
Required Graduate of a Master’s of Nurse program with an advanced practice component required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three to five years of medicine experience is preferred but will consider new graduates and mentor in program. Advanced current knowledge of Nursing Theory, Nursing Philosophy, Educational Theory, and Research. Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Excellent leadership abilities and teaching skills. Strong ability to manage flexing duties and working with a variety of physician teams.
