My extensive experience working with Nurse Practitioners has been excellent. In these difficult times of Physician shortage, the arrival of the Nurse Practitioner in the field of primary care practice has been a great help and assistance, not only to the patients but also for the physicians

My 87 year old father spent several weeks in cardiac ICU after his heart valve failed and needed replacement. We were very fortunate to end up on a cardiac ward that had a nurse practitioner providing care in addition to the cardiac team. She quickly recognized my father was becoming ill with pneumonia, and he was treated immediately. She helped get him mobile again and get his diet and bowel routine back on track to so he could be discharged home. I really appreciated the specialized knowledge of the cardiac team that looked after my father, but without the nurse practitioner providing her primary care expertise, I’m not sure Dad would have made it home. We are forever grateful!
