Based on experience



– as a self-directed practitioner, provide direct, specialized, comprehensive care emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and collaborative management strategies to positively affect health outcomes

– work collaboratively with all interdisciplinary members of our health care team to positively impact patient’s wellness, to customize patient care, to assist every client on their way to achieving optimal wellness

– authorized and competent to perform comprehensive assessment, diagnosis (including the ordering and interpretation of tests), intervention (including the prescribing of medications and performing of IV therapies), management, referral, and evaluation of client care across the continuum of health care services

– provide leadership (and actively participate) in health & wellness program development and evaluation patient education activities (seminars, workshops, health talks)

– participate in interdisciplinary collaboration in the practice setting to determine and regularly review clinic’s SoPs for drug prescription, distribution, monitoring, ensuring consistency with provincial prescribing and distributing guidelines


Education and experience:

– BA or Masters of Nursing with Nurse Practitioner specialization required

– valid practice permit from the College and Association of Registered Nurse of Alberta (CARNA) required

– recent related clinical experience preferable but new grads looking to grow with a fast-paced health & wellness clinic are encouraged to apply

– experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment and therapeutic interventions, health promotion, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care outside of a hospital setting considered an asset

– further field-specific training can be provided if needed


– demonstrated IV skills

– demonstrated leadership experience / initiative

– additional required qualifications: ability to work independently and as part of a team

– ability to instigate and promote change

– Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification

– strong written and verbal communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills

– knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook Express and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
