Dr. Julia Carter, Medical Lead for the Provincial Pathways Unit (PPU) will provide an overview of the latest primary care pathways and highlights of what’s coming next.
Come and learn more about the Provincial Autism in Infants and Young Children Primary Care Clinical Pathway from two key members of the pathway codesign group, Mary Obstfeld, Nurse Practitioner Cold Lake First Nations Health Centre and Julie Evans, Speech and Language Therapist and co-chair of the autism clinical pathway.
Mary and Julie will provide an overview of the pathway designed to support primary care providers with guidance for monitoring for the earliest signs of autism and facilitate earlier referral to pediatric allied health providers and specialized assessment as needed.
Information on supporting children and families through early intervention, assessment, diagnosis of autism and beyond will also be included.

They will also highlight the accompanying family pathway designed to support a family’s journey in understanding a child’s communication, social development, and early signs of autism.
