Activity Overview
Nurse practitioners in primary care settings need to have a complete understanding of current and emerging strategies in the treatment and management of MDD. They need to be familiar with risk factors and tools available for screening patients to diagnosis and treat earlier. Thisis educational program will focus on MDD and review the most recent medications along with monitoring and promoting adherence to medications in order to provide a continuity of care.

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

• Review treatments and monitoring strategies for MDD.
• Be proficient in screening patients for depression and providing support as a gatekeeper for presenting patients.
• Explain the reasons for nonadherence and be able to intercede appropriately
