Role Overview: As a Nurse Practitioner at WEAC, you will be the primary care provider, utilizing advanced decision-making skills in assessment, diagnosis, and care management. You’ll be a trusted member of our multi-disciplinary team, providing comprehensive care and leading health support initiatives. Key Responsibilities: •Client-Centered Care: Use relational, trauma-informed, and harm reduction approaches to create a safe and welcoming environment for our clients. •Collaborative Practice: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality care tailored to individual needs. •Health Promotion: Share knowledge on healthy lifestyles, risk reduction, and preventative self-care. •Leadership and Development: Participate in program development and clinical teaching activities.
Requirements
Qualifications: •Master’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent) with completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner Program •Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as an NP in the Family/All Ages Stream •Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS-HCP) •Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •Experience with a wide range of assessment, treatment, and therapeutic interventions •Computer literacy (Electronic medical records, Netcare, etc.) •Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), and other relevant certifications •Security Clearance •Experience in caring for diverse populations •Authorization for prescribing Controlled Drugs and Substances (upon meeting CRNA requirements)
