NP Head Start Learning Series: Optimizing the Management of Chronic Migraine

PRESENTATION:

This is a 3-part virtual learning series created for NPs to improve clinical skills in headache diagnosis and
management of headache disorders, particularly chronic migraine

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

DIAGNOSIS (90-minute program)
• Understand clinical features of chronic migraine
• Improved accuracy and confidence in diagnosis

TREATMENT (90-minute program)
• Review current therapies for CM
• Discuss real-world approaches to prescribing
• Understanding injectable treatment options

PATIENT CASES (90-minute program)
• Informal case discussion
• Improve comfort and competency managing migraine patients
• Complete the program with practical skills

Christie Tait, MN NP-PHC
Nurse Practitioner

Christie is an NP in Toronto, Ontario who works exclusively with headache and migraine patients and delivers education on this topic nationally. She is the Founder and Director of Structure Clinic Headache Care Centre and a Clinician at the Toronto Headache and Pain Clinic.
