Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be better able to:

  1. Understand the mechanism of action and clinical pharmacology of buprenorphine
    extended-release injection
  2. Confidently support and treat patients with problematic opioid use
  3. Review and understand the positive impact new treatment options offer patients with
    Opioid Use Disorder

Speaker

Katie Dunham is a primary care nurse practitioner with a background in emergency
nursing, primary-care, and rapid access addiction medicine.  She is currently working in
withdrawal management in a community residential service in London, ON.  She also acts
as the Nurse Educator for META:PHI, an Ontario-based organization that providers
mentoring, education, and clinical tools to those working in the field of addictions.  Here
she coordinates the NP listserv, and Nurse and NP monthly nurse call, and is project lead
for the NP withdrawal management manual, a practical hands-on guide for withdrawal-
related care.  She is co-author of a “a guide to the use of depot buprenorphine” and
provides nation-wide Sublocade educational presentations.
