Description

ACT Medical Centres is seeking a motivated individual who is flexible and works well in a team environment to fill the full-time permanent position of Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our Downtown Calgary facility. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to clients within a Primary Care setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive histories and physical exams, collaborating with an interprofessional team to evaluate clients’ health status
  • Practice within the NP Scope of Practice
  • Provide care according to the established care plan ensuring that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the best of our ability
  • Facilitate health promotion for clients and their families with a harm reduction focus
  • Engaging in community involvement, developing partnerships, raising awareness, and advocacy
  • Document client conditions and changes following CARNA standards and in accordance with ACT Medical Personnel standards.
  • Occasional travel to facilitate doctor days around Southern Alberta
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education

Requirements

  • Master of Nursing with advanced clinical nursing practice
  • Hold valid NP license with CARNA
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an NP in a relevant Primary Care setting
  • Experience with Accuro is considered a strong asset. Experience with other electronic medical records (EMRs) may be considered
  • Motivated with a strong customer service orientation building solid health care client/partner relationships
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • A background in mental health/addictions treatment will be considered a strong asset
